A.I. Makeup Inspired Look

A.I. (2001)

Directors tend to go unnoticed most of the time.  Some slip trough such as Quentin Tarantino and Baz Luhrmann, but none are more recognisable than Steven Spielberg.  It's really interesting sometimes to do some research after you've watched a film and find out who directed the film and what else they have directed.  Liking or disliking a film comes all down to who directed the film and you may find that alot of the films you like or dislike were made by the same person, and maybe you can save precious hours later by choosing the wrong film to watch!  Having said that, directors can be very hit or miss, so discard everything I just said!  The film lost out to Lord of the Rings for an Oscar that year and only won a few awards, such as BFI and 4 Saturn awards.

I think this may have been the first dvd we bought for our player and I still have a quite vivid memory of the film.  I can't remember much of the storyline at all, but I do remember how depressing the whole film felt.  It's such as sad story, it really comes down to a boy being disregarded from his family and it has a real sense of feeling unwanted.  Steven Spielberg is able to create an incredibly emotional story by pulling all media elements together and it's what makes him a great director.

The lighting for this image looks very different depending on what device you are viewing this on, it looks almost completely black on my macbook here but my sony vaio shows it up a lot brighter.  So I apologise if you have some issues viewing this image, or others from this series.  At the end of the day these images aren't meant to concentrate of the makeup looks i've created, it's the overall image, so it's not exactly a bad thing that it's harder to see on some devices!
