Pinocchio Inspired Makeup Look

Pinocchio (1940)

Today marks the last of my posts from Vanity Nightmare at the Movies!  It's been a long process but it's nearly finally complete.  I've been working like crazy the past couple of months during SS14 and I haven't had any time to create a book to feature all these looks in!  So once that is complete the process is finished!

This post is also the most in the past shoot I've done, 1940 is the earliest film that is featured here and who would have thought it would be an animation film?!  I've featured alot of Disney movies in this series and Pinocchio is one of those golden Disney movies that will be forever remembered.  I didn't particularly like the film, I felt it had too many sad moments and the pay off wasn't high enough for me.  Films tend to be happy to begin with, then sad, then at the end everyone is happy again.  Pinocchio is more of an emotional roller coaster and I always seem to end up being exhausted by the end and just want it over with!

The mannequin hand was actually saved from a skip from a well known established fashion company.  They were throwing out all sorts of mannequins for various reasons, some were older types, some were slightly damaged and these were all going into the skip!  I guess it kinda reminded me of A.I. and I couldn't let something so amazing go to waste!  I saved this arm along with a torso because I knew I had to create a look for it and Pinocchio is an amazing match!  I decided to use a fake tan to create some of these lines (god knows why) because for the next week I had brown lines all over my face.  So if you want a good fake tan then Rodial is definitely the way to go as it will last for ages!

Yet again this project has been a massive learning curve for me and I've slightly changed as a person which is great!  I set out to create 20 makeup looks and I succeeded within the 2 week time period I had set.  Yet again I'm thinking about what my next project will be and If you have any ideas then feel free to let me know!  I'm thinking maybe a more arts based series or maybe makeup looks inspired by various computer games? I quite like that idea because it could be anything from arcade games to Call Of Duty!

In a couple of days it will be Halloween and I'll try to get another post out for this day.  I'm not sure of my plans right now but hopefully Ill be going somewhere and creating a crazy makeup look for something!  After this I'm not sure what I'll be posting, I may do some more diary related posts of the previous 2 months and I'll have some free time until AW14 so I'm more than likely to create some new looks in this period!  It would make sense to do some computer game based looks since the PS4 and Xbox One are being released next month!  Good timing or a sign, who knows!
